Jumping on that juicing wave

Hey bloggers,

Wow it's been a while, let me be the last to say Happy New Year (last...d'you see what I did there? = D )

2014, can ya believe it? Well I suppose you've had some time to accept it seen as January's nearly over for goodness sakes = O.

Speaking of which, who else feels robbed this winter?! I've got one question for you, WHERE'S THE SNOW AT? I suppose that's two questions when u look at it but hey ho ; )

Anyways moving swiftly on because I can see myself getting caught up on this snow issue rather than what I came to write about haha... Don't ya just hate when that happens?

So guys and gals, I've decided that this year I really want to focus on being fit and healthy. Before you say it, no I'm not about this 'new year new me' junk that seems to fill people's status' every year! I'm talking about a healthy life style choice, Mind, Body and Soul baby!!! Mind you I'm not obese or anything... I just think it would be really beneficial to be health conscious in all aspects of my life.

So lets do a little revision/checklist here:

*Join the gym- CHECK ( done that in 2013, staying ahead of the game ; )

*Healthy eating- hmm... Well I do try to eat a balanced diet BUT I am determined to cut down on the junk food and sugary treats!!!

Next step: Juicing

I'm quite excited to try juicing and I've already started looking up different recipes. But my knowledge isn't all from scratch though...my mum jumped on the juicing wave before me and she's mixed up some really great tastes in the past.

My only worry is that 1. Buying all these fruits an veg may be a bit costly and 2. The idea of incorporating vegetables into my juice scares me ; (. But I shall prosper!!! I'm not too sure what angle I'm taking on this yet, whether I'll do it as a challenge for a certain time period or just juicing as frequently as possible but I'm definitely taking this on.

Going to team this with some healthy eating and record the benefits and my experience as I go on by blogging. I'm already certain i want to try 'green juicing'  * brave face. Come on, having your 5 a day in a cup?... This has got to be great right? = D

The 1st of February it's on!!! I'm going to shop around this weekend to try and get my lovely resources without breaking the bank!!! Off to do some more researching.

Later folks!

African culture project

Hey bloggers,

I've got this African theatre event coming up on the 29th to attend and it's got me thinking...

The upcoming event has inspired me to do some research of my own into the African culture. Now being the lover of fashion that I am, i think it would be a really good idea to do an African themed project. I would love to get some snaps of the different style of clothes and patterns which have come from the African culture...after all it's where the Aztec pattern originated from!!

Please be on the look out for a review I will be posting next month of my African fun night theatre experience. Any updates and ideas on my upcoming project will be posted to my blog soon so STANDBY!!!

Sega Dancers review at the Portlouise bar

Guests were captivated by the moves of the girls, their turns had eyes locked in as their flowy skirts moved to follow every spin, glide and shuffle their bodies created. Who knew that a dance which dates back to slavery days could remain so beautiful today?

Judging by the expressions within the room, it's clear that an appreciation of the Mauritius culture had been embraced  successfully. Sounds of cheer and applause rose from each table at the Portlouise bar as the girls continued to make their mark on this event.

When watching the Sega dancers, it was as if seeing a story being brought to life before your very eyes, one that dates back to the 1960's where Sega first began. The shuffles of their feet helped re-inact the chains in which the slaves were bound to. Desperate to break free, a burst of passion and vibrancy was portrayed as the girls drew energy into each and every move.

The type of steps in which the girls brought to their routine was very bold and eye catching. They would often ruffle their skirts and interact with the crowd which really formed a buzz in the room. You could see that guests were itching to join the girls on the dance floor but at the same time did not want to chance missing a moment of their routine!

The Dj made sure to deliver some of Mauritians finest tunes throughout the evening. During the Sega dancers performance you could really pick out the distinct sounds of: drums, rattles, triangles and a few others infused together. Not only was an Island vibe brought to this Diwali event but also a sense of escapism, as guests found themselves lost in island melodies.

When asked 'What do you love about your job?' Talent agent, Wendy Cummings explained, 'it is great to see a vision play out before your very eyes. With the Sega dancers they provide a sense of escapism which I get lost in whether its at a rehearsal or performance. I have the pleasure of experiencing the great talents which the girls bring forward.' Wendy explained that the dance truly is a form of art and beauty and that this appreciation of such cultural experience is definitely one worth sharing with others.

I truly agree, the dance speaks passion, life and cultural art to its finest! I would definitely love to see the girls perform again as they take a dance which was labelled as 'the music of slaves' and inject heart and soul into the way Sega is delivered today.

Sega Dancers event

Hi all,
I recently went to a Sega performance as  part of my work experience opportunity which I have fortunately been able to get.

As part of my experience I will be able to post reviews and pics of some of the fun events ill be attending and post it online for my wonderful readers to feast their eyes on.

Not to give to much away but the evening was definitely filled with excitement, vibrancy and a buzz enough to get you pumped to dance the night away...I Loved it.

I'll be posting a full review on Friday of the evenings entertainment which was delivered by none other than Entertainment Inc.Please check back and have a read.

Some of the history behind the Sega dance was also quite interesting to learn about. It is definitely worth having a research but just to sum up the dance goes back to Slavery days where the women danced the Sega whilst bound to foot chains. This allowed them to adapt the shuffle motion which they portray with their feet and  create something truly beautiful.

But anyways I'm giving it away, be sure to check back on Friday.

Trend Alert- transparent heels

We've seen some pretty mad trends throughout shoe history ranging from flamboyant gaga heels to sky scraper platforms but word on the street is...there's a new shoe in town.

       Behold the transparent heel.

Take a look at these bad boys! Well known designer Jeffrey Cambell have been posting a range of pictures on Instagram featuring the transparent heel design.

These boots definitely have an edge to them. Not only do I Love the platform like transparent heel, but the designers mix it up by turning the heel into a display! Definitely a head turner...hmm not sure doll heads would be my choice to show off tho ; )
Now this more like it. I absolutely love a wedge heel and thankfully Big Mommas Shop have found a way to encorporate the transparent heel and turn it into a stylish and elegant look. Perfect height with a cute nude pink look. Be sure to check out more colours on range at www.bigmommathang.com

Midi Madness

Hey hey

I don't know about you but I'm absolutely loving the midi fashion trend this season. (I'd say summer but we use that term very lightly to describe this English weather- thumbs down)

What I absolutely love is the qualities the midi trend brings to the fashion world. It's cool, funky and reaches the perfect knee length to achieve that elegant look. It all depends on how you dress it up! Dresses, skirts you name it, choose between your desired piece and have fun rocking that midi look. Go ahead and show some love for the midi madness!!

Trend spotting alert!!!

I love how the midi madness trend is being snatched up by those all to cool celebs. I'm seeing killer heels and crop tops being matched and rocked to compliment the look. PLEASE REVERT YOUR ATTENTION TO THE WONDER THAT IS FASHION BELOW

Office blues/spring time ideas

Hey hey, back again with another post after who knows how long *deep breath in

So things have been quite up and down for me I have to admit. Coming home with tired sore eyes- and not just from the hay fever! Not to mention being under the constant impression that somewhere in my house...I can hear the faint ringing of the office phones... Scary.

But it's not all bad though, with more responsibility comes the sense of great achievement and I feel that as I go on... I'm getting closer to understanding what I want to do in life. Career wise my next step is to lock in a job within the media sector... It's days like this sitting in the office where I realise I want to be out there doing the things I love and making my dreams happen. But for right now I'm building that foundation that will hopefully set me up for all of that!

But anyways I've been thinking, with the season moving into spring it would be so great to document the changes. And what better way to do this then with another project!!!! That's right, I'm going spring themed. I'm so excited because I've finally ordered my camera charger so pretty soon me and Nicky (my little Nikon number) shall once again be reunited. Twill be a lovely day =' ).

I can see it now: flashes of pinks, yellow, Ice cream colours and cute summery pastel shades. Look out summer 2013- I'm coming to get ya!
Stay posted for more blog entries (promise to try my hardest and post frequently) and to keep updated with my spring/summer project!

Much Love,
Rhibee xx
